Ioannes 141 was a priest and hegoumenos, described by Tarasios 1 as his fellow minister and as one who had withdrawn from worldly cares; at the end of the Second Council of Nikaia (the Seventh Ecumenical Council, 787) Tarasios 1 wrote to him about the achievements of the Council: Mansi XIII 471- 479 (τῷ θεοσεβεστάτῳ καὶ εὐλαβεστάτῳ συλλειτουργῷ, κυρίῳ Ἰωάννῃ πρεσβυτέρῳ καὶ ἡγουμένῳ καὶ ἀναχωρητῇ τῶν κοσμικῶν φροντίδων).
