Ioannes 76 was a deacon of the Church of Kotiaion in Phrygia Salutaris; in 692 he attended the Quinisext Council in Constantinople as representative of his bishop (whose name is not recorded; Anonymus 649) and signed the canons on his behalf: Ohme, Bischofsliste, p. 165, no. 189 (= Mansi XI 1001) (Ἰωάννης διάκονος τῆς Κοτυαείων πόλεως τὸν τόπον ἀναπληρῶν τοῦ ἁγιωτάτου μου ἐπισκόπου).
