Ignatios 19 was bishop of Miletos; he was the addressee of two letters from Theodore the Stoudite (Theodoros 15), both addressed Ἰγνατίῳ ἐπισκόπῳ Μιλήτου: Theod. Stud., Ep. 75 (a. 816/818), Ep. 267 (L 816/E 817). A supporter of the veneration of icons, he was arrested by the iconoclasts under Leo V (Leo 15), probably in spring or early summer 816: Theod. Stud., Ep. 136 (to Naukratios 1; προεπήρθη ὁ Μιλήτου). He was an old acquaintance of Theodoros 15 and possibly also a monk before he became bishop: Theod. Stud., Ep. 75 (ὁμόσχημος ἡμῖν ὑπάρχεις καὶ τῶν ἐξ ἀρχῆς γνωρίμων τε καὶ φίλων), Ep. 267 (γνώριμον καὶ ὁμόσχημον). He suffered exile during the persecution and loss of his property (ἐξορίαν καὶ ἀφαίρεσιν πάντων): Theod. Stud., Ep. 75. Ignatios 19 was persecuted and exiled; Theodoros 15 did not know where he was in exile (τὸν τῆς ἐξορίας τόπον τῆς πατρικῆς σου ἁγιωσύνης), but he had been seen by Dionysios 6 and so Theodoros 15 wrote to him: Theod. Stud., Ep. 267. Addressed as ὦ πατέρων ἄριστε and θεοτίμητε and styled τὸν ποθητὸν ἡμῶν πατέρα: Theod. Stud., Ep. 75. Also addressed as ὦ τιμιώτατε and ὦ θεόσοφε: Theod. Stud., Ep. 267.
