Hermelinda 1 was an Anglo-Saxon; she married the Lombard king Cunincpert 1 ("at vero Cunincpert rex Hermelinda ex Saxonum Anglorum genere duxit uxorem"); an anecdote recounts how she inadvertently aroused her husband's passion for Theodote 4 after seeing her at the baths ("in balneo"): Paul. Diac., Hist. Lang. V 37. The incident presumably took place at Ticinum.
