Gregorios 54 was patrikios, basilikos protospatharios and strategos of Thrace; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth or tenth century: DOSeals I 71. 25. Obv.: Κ(ύρι)ε βοήθει τ[ῷ σῷ δούλῳ]. Rev.: ηγ - πατ' - α' σπα - ω (καὶ) στ - ηγω Θ - κης. The name and titles read: [Γρ]ηγ[ορίῳ] πατ[(ρι)κ(ίῳ), β(ασιλικῷ)] (πρωτο)σπα[θαρί]ῳ (καὶ) στ[ρατ]ηγῷ Θ[ρᾴ]κης. Possibly identical with Gregorios 55 (owner of different seals).
