Georgios 247 was apo hypaton and genikos kommerkiarios of the apotheke of Nikaia; owner of a seal dateable to the years 695/697 (see below): DOSeals III 59.3 = Zacos and Veglery 194. Obv.: a standing emperor, with indiction dates nine and ten, and traces of an inscription of which Γε may be read, followed later by α. Rev.: +γε - νικου κο - μμερκια - ριου αποθη - κης Νηκη - ας. The name and titles may read: Γε[ωργίου ἀπὸ ὑπ]ά[των] καὶ γενικοῦ κομμερκιαρίου ἀποθήκης Νηκήας. The emperor is identified as Leontios (Leontios 2) by Zacos and Veglery and as either Justinian II (Ioustinianos 1) or Leontios 2 by Nesbitt and Oikonomides, who prefer the former.
