Georgios 231 was basilikos spatharios and strategos of Hellas; owner of a seal dateable to the eighth century: DOSeals II 8.45. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει with τω - ς. - δου - λ.. Rev.: ..ωργ - β' σπ' - .τρ' Ελ - δος. The name and title read: [Γε]ωργ[ίῳ] β[ασιλικῷ] σπ[αθαρίῳ] [καὶ σ]τρ[ατηγῷ] Ἑλ[λά]δος. Cf. also Georgios 146.
