Georgios 166 was basilikos spatharios and strategos of the Boukellarioi; owner of a seal dateable to the mid eighth century: Konstantopoulos, JIAN 9, 162a (where the name is read as Leo; see Leo 137); Seibt, Bleisiegel, p. 321, corrects the name and proposes to identify the owner with Georgios 96. The name and title read: [Γ]εω[ργίῳ] βασιλικῷ σπαθαρίῳ καὶ στρατηγῷ τῶν Βουτελαρίων. Probably identical with Georgios basilikos spatharios and strategos of the Boukellarioi, who owned a similar seal, dateable to the eighth century: Zacos and Veglery 1933. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει, with τω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: Γεωργιω - β' σπαθαρ - και στρ' των - Βουκελ - αριω'. The name and titles read: Γεωργίῳ βασιλικῷ σπαθαρίῳ καὶ στρατηγῷ τῶν Βουκελλαρίων.
