Georgios 122 was the son of Sisinnios 85 and the father of the patriarch Tarasios 1; he was a patrikios and kuaistor: Catal. Patr., pp. 290-291 (Ταράσιος ὁ ἀπὸ ἀσηκρῆτις, υἱὸς Γεωργίου πατρικίου καὶ κοιαίστωρος, ἐγγονὸς Σισιννίου πατρικίου). Husband of Enkrateia 1 and father of Tarasios 1; he and his wife both were descendants of patrikioi and were patrikioi themselves (ἐκ πατρικίων σειρᾶς πατρίκιοι χρηματίσαντες): Ignatius, Vita Tarasii 4, lines 3-5. He rose to the top of a judicial career (πρὸς δικαστικῶν ἐπαναβὰς θρόνων ὕψει) and distributed justice fairly to all: Ignatius, Vita Tarasii 4, lines 6-10. He once acquitted some women accused of murdering children after transforming themselves into spirits; his verdict was questioned and he was brought before the emperor to explain himself; he was for a time badly maltreated but eventually his judgement was accepted as right: Ignatius, Vita Tarasii 4, line 9-15, line 31.
