Georgios 18 was bishop of Bizye in Thrace; he attended the Third Council of Constantinople (the Sixth Ecumenical Council) in 680 and 681 and was present at all eighteen sessions: Riedinger, pp. 16-824 (= Mansi XI 212-673). In the subscriptions to the statement of the faith, which condemned monotheletism, and to the Council, he is styled Γεώργιος ἐλέει Θεοῦ ἐπίσκοπος τῆς Βιζυηνῶν πόλεως τῆς Θρᾳκῶν χώρας: Riedinger, p. 784, line 22, p. 824, line 32 (= Mansi XI 645, 673) (the old Latin version printed in Riedinger, p. 785, line 21, calls his see "Uizyis ciuitatis Thraciae regionis"). In the lists of those attending each council he is styled Γεωργίου ἐπισκόπου Βυζίης Θρᾴκης: Riedinger, p. 16, line 30, p. 28, line 34 etc.(= Mansi XI 212, 220, etc.). At the eighth session (7 March 681) he declared his acceptance of the doctrine of Two Wills and Two Energies as set out in documents from pope Agatho 1 and the Roman Council: Riedinger, pp. 198-200, lines 27, 1-5 (= Mansi XI 337). He was among the signatories to the copy of the definition of the faith sent to the bishop of Rome, Agatho 1: Riedinger, p. 893, line 20 (= Mansi XI 693). His name occurs in the list of bishops printed in Mansi XI 696. He is possibly identical with the bishop Georgios 37 who attended the Quinisext Council in 692.
