Euthymios 15 was a Stoudite monk, addressee of three letters from Theodoros 15 (Theodore the Stoudite), written between 816 and 818: Theod. Stud., Ep. 181, pp. 303-305 (c. 816) (addressed Εὐθυμίῳ καὶ τοῖς λοιποῖς ἀδελφοῖς); 246, pp. 378-379 (M/L 816); 343, pp. 482-483 (winter 817/818 or spring 818) (both addressed Εὐθυμίῳ τέκνῳ). He is mentioned in one other letter, written in 809/811; he was one of the monks whom Theodoros proposed to identify, for reasons of security, by means of a letter code during the Moechian dispute in 809/811: Theod. Stud., Ep. 41, pp. 121-122. During the persecution under Leo V (Leo 15) he helped to look after Theodoros, supplying him with necessities when he was held under arrest in Constantinople: Theod. Stud., Ep. 246, pp. 378-379. He was one of a group of ten monks associated together during the persecution (the others were Aphrodisios 1, Ammonas 1, Hyperechios 1, Stephanos 135, Parthenios 1, Hegesimos 1, Symeon 28, Dorotheos 10 and Ephraim 2): Theod. Stud., Ep. 181, pp. 303-305. He was flogged and exiled by the iconoclasts, together with his nine colleagues, for condemning the removal of icons by Antonios 25; he is addressed as τέκνον μου ἠγαπημένον (p. 378, line 2): Theod. Stud., Ep. 246, pp. 378-379. He received a letter of encouragement from Theodoros during the persecution, in late 817 or early 818: Theod. Stud., Ep. 343, pp. 482-483. He is recorded as one of the disciples (μαθητὰς) of Theodoros who suffered during the iconoclast persecution: Vita B Theod. Stud. 301C-D (ὁ θαρραλεώτατος καὶ τῆς εὐθυμίας ἐπώνυμος ὁμολογήτης), Vita C Theod. Stud. §57, p. 291 (σὺν τῷ θαυμαστῷ Εὐθυμίῳ).
