Epiphanios 47 was hegoumenos of the monastery of Eukairia; addressee of a letter from Theodoros 15 (Theodore the Stoudite), written in 816/817; he was a supporter of the veneration of icons who was exiled during the persecution under Leo V (Leo 15), possibly to the vicinity of Nikaia (cf. line 5 νικαΐζεις καὶ τόπῳ καὶ τρόπῳ: p. 297, line 5); the letter was written shortly after Theodoros heard of his exile: Theod. Stud. Ep. 176, pp. 297-298 (addressed Ἐπιφανίῳ ἡγουμένῳ Εὐκαιρίας). In 817 the hegoumenos of the monastery of Eukairia was Ioannes 459, which suggests that Epiphanios was already dead.
