Epiphanios 44 was basilikos spatharios and tourmarches of Hellas; owner of several similar seals dateable to the ninth century (possibly the mid century; Seibt, Bleisiegel 319, dates these seals slightly later than that owned by Epiphanios 42): DOSeals II 8.61a and b = Zacos and Veglery 1876b and 1876a. The name and titles read: Ἐπιφανίῳ βασιλικῷ σπαθαρίῳ καὶ τουρμάρχῃ Ἑλλάδος.
