Droso 1 was mother of a "despotes" (probably meaning a bishop; see Anonymus 428); owner of a seal dateable between the mid seventh century and the mid eighth: Zacos and Veglery 2841. Obv.: eagle, standing, with raised wings; between the wings is a cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει. Rev.: Δροσω - μητρη τ - ου δεσπ - οτου. The name and text read: Δρόσῳ μητρὶ τοῦ δεσπότου. The reading of the name is uncertain and the spelling Δρουσι is also possible, according to the editors, Zacos and Veglery.
