In 642/643 David 29 planned with Valentinus 1 a joint attack on the Arabs in Syria but was defeated by them; he was then routed and killed: Chron. 1234, ยง122 (p. 257). See further PLRE III, pp. 389-390, David 6; he was kourapalates and ruler of Armenia in 635-638 or 637-640.
