Christophoros 30 was the magister militum, at Rome; after the election of Benedict III (Benediktos 7) as bishop of Rome in 855, Christophoros 30, with two other magistri militum, Gregorios 93 and Merkourios 3, and the bishop of Anagnia, Nikolaos 49, left Rome for Horta to meet the envoys of the Frankish emperor Louis II (Lodoïchos 1) and join the supporters of the rival claimant to the see of Rome, Anastasius (Anastasios 25): Lib. Pont. 106. 9.
