Ansfrid 1 was abbot of the monastery of Nonantola; in 828 he and the bishop of Cambrai, Halitgar 1, were sent by Louis the Pious (Lodoïchos 2) as envoys to the emperor Michael II (Michael 10); on their return they reported that they had been received with great honour: Annales Regni Francorum s.a. 828.
