Anonymus 766 was an in-law of the bishop of Caria, Nikephoros 70, who proposed to make over to him a property rightfully belonging to an unnamed widow (Anonyma 105) who had inherited it from her late husband (Anonymus 767); the proposed plan was apparently contrary to the terms of a marriage contract involving an unnamed strator (Anonymus 765); Ignatius the Deacon (Ignatios 9) wrote a letter to Nikephoros 70 inviting him to reconsider; the relationship of Anonymus 766 to Nikephoros 70 is obscure, particularly since Ignatius describes him as the former in-law of Nikephoros 70 (τῷ προτέρῳ γαμβρῷ) who was not really an in-law at all (οὐδὲ εἰς γαμβροῦ γνησιότητα φθάσαντι): Ignatius Diac., Ep. 19.
