Anonymus 738 was the son of Pasagnathes 1; in 653 he was sent by his father as a hostage to the Arabs: Theoph. AM 6143. Possibly his name was Vard; cf. PLRE III, p. 1282, under Theodorus 167. = Anonymus 1.
