Pasagnathes 1 was also known as Theodoros Rshtuni (PLRE III, Theodorus 167). The patrikios of the Armenians (Πασαγνάθης, ὁ τῶν Ἀρμενίων πατρίκιος), in 651/652 he revolted from the Romans and made a treaty with Mu`awiya 1, sending his own son (Anonymus 1) as hostage; Constans II (Konstans 1) abandoned hope of recovering Armenia: Theoph. AM 6143.
