A native of Etruria (genere Tuscus), Anonymus 314 was one of the close associates of the Lombard rebel Alahis 1 ( unus e suis ); when Alahis 1 refused to meet the challenge of king Cunincpert 1 to single combat before the battle on the plain of Coronate, Anonymus 314 rebuked Alahis 1 and defected to Cunincpert 1: Paul.
