Anonymus 265 was the son of Maurikios 10; in 772 he was taken captive by Desiderius, king of the Lombards (Desiderios 3), and his father Maurikios 10, then dux Venetiarum, was said by the archbishop of Ravenna Leo 114, to be intending to exchange Paulus Afiarta (Paulos 51) for Anonymus 265: Lib. Pont. 97. 15. He was probably identical with Ioannes 515.
