Anonymus 191 was an oikonomos of Gazarenos 1 (τὸν ἐκείνου οἰκονόμον; Theoph. Cont. II 19, p. 72); present in Saniana (in Pontus Polemoniacus) with Gazarenos 1 after the end of the rebellion of Thomas the Slav (Thomas 7); when the envoy of the emperor Michael II (Michael 10), Guberios 1, promised him the metropolitan see of Neokaisareia if he would surrender the fort, he had the gates of the fort closed while Gazarenos 1 was out raiding and barred him entry, and then Anonymus 191 surrendered the place to Guberios 1: Theoph. Cont. II 19 (pp. 72-73). It is not recorded that he obtained the bishopric.
