Anonymus 186 was an attendant of Michael 10, probably a koubikoularios: Theoph. Cont. I 24 (p.38) (τις τῶν προκοίτων τοῦ Μιχαὴλ). He was in attendance with the papias of the palace (Anonymus 31) during Michael 10's night of captivity after his arrest at Christmas 820, and observed the surreptitious visit of the emperor Leo 15, whom he recognised by his purple slippers: Theoph. Cont. I 24 (pp. 37-38), Genesius I 19 (he was a eunuch - εὐνουχικὸν παιδάριον). See also Anonymus 228.
