Anonymus 166 was a hypatos and chartoularios of the basilika ktemata; owner of a seal dateable to the eighth or ninth century: Schlumberger, Sig., pp. 484- 485 (facsimile). Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει with τω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: .... - λ(?) υπατ' και - .αρτ' τ' - . κτημ'. The title reads: ὑπάτῳ καὶ χαρτουλαρίῳ τῶν [βασιλικῶν] κτημάτων. Although the name of the owner is lost, the traces on the facsimile suggest a name ending with the letter λ, which suggests perhaps Michael. The seal was in Schlumberger's own collection. For a similar seal, see Anonymus 513.
