Anonyma 40 was the daughter of Theophilos 23 and Melissene 1; as a baby she was taken to Nicolas the Stoudite (Nikolaos 26), who blessed her and foretold that she would have children and grandchildren: Vita Nic. Stud. 917A-B. She was related to the family of the Melissenoi, apparently through her mother.
