Andreas 24 was basilikos kandidatos; owner of a seal dateable to the third quarter of the ninth century: Seibt, Bleisiegel 112. Obv.: +Θεοτόκ(ε) βοήθ(ει) το σο δού(λωι). Rev.: +Ἀνδρ - εαι βασηλι - κο κανδι - δατο+. Possibly identical with the seal owner Andreas βασιλικὸς πρωτοσπαθάριος καὶ στρατηγὸς Ὀψικίου (see Andreas 54 and Seibt, Bleisiegel, p. 242), who may also be identical with Andreas ὁ ἐκ Σκύθων who in 879 was promoted from ὑποστράτηγος τοῦ Ὀψικίου to be πατρίκιος καὶ δομέστικος τῶν σχολῶν (PBE II, and see V. Laurent, "Deux nouveaux gouverneurs de la Bulgarie byzantine: Le proèdre Nicéphore Batatzès et le protoproèdre Grégoire", RESEE 7, 1 (1969), p. 144, with n. 4).
