Probably a monk, Anastasios 71 is praised in a letter from Ignatius the Deacon (Ignatios 9) to Nikephoros 71 for his constancy in religion (ἐπὶ δὲ τῇ τοῦ κοινοῦ ἀδελφοῦ Ἀναστασίου διὰ Θεὸν ἐνστάσει): Ignatius Diac., Ep. 40, lines 22-23. Possibly identical with Anastasios 38.
