Anastasios 59 was oikonomos of the monastery of Eriste at Pandemos in Bithynia, when St Ioannikios (Ioannikios 2) received the tonsure there (Ἀναστάσιον οἰκονόμον); the date is given as in the fifth year of Nikephoros 8 and Staurakios 2, the twelfth year since Ioannikios 2 withdrew from the world, and the fifty-fourth year of Ioannikios 2's life (i.e. c. 807); Ioannikios 2 spoke first to the hegoumenos Stephanos 127 and on the next day received the tonsure from Anastasios 59 (τοῦ τῆς μονῆς οἰκονόμου Ἀναστασίου τὴν ἀπαρχὴν αὐτοῦ τῶν τριχῶν δεξαμένου): Sabas, Vita Ioannicii 13.
