Amator 2 became bishop of Castrum Iuliense (Iulia Carnica) in succession to Fidentius 1; they lived in Forum Iulii, the seat of the Lombard dux of Forum Iulii, which aroused the envy of the patriarch of Aquileia, Callistus (Kallistos 9), who lived in Cormones castrum because of Roman attacks on Aquileia; Kallistos 9 drove Amator 2 out of Forum Iulii and occupied his house; this occurred in the reign of Liutprand 1: Paul.
