Adelperga 1 was daughter of the Lombard king Desiderius (Desiderios 3) (and his queen Ansa 1) and sister of Adalgisos 1; she was the wife of the Lombard dux of Beneventum, Arichis 4; they had a family: Paul. Diac., Versus de Annis, p. 3, lines 28-30 (cited under Arichis 4). The initial letters of each verse of this poem read: "Adelperga pia". She was apparently patron of Paul the Deacon; see note by G. Waitz on p. 2 of his edition of Paul. Diac., Hist. Lang.. She was presumably the mother of Grimoald 6 and Romoald (not in PBE): cf. Annales Regni Francorum s.a. 787, s.a. 788.
