In AH 54 (December 673/December 674) = 985 Sel. (673/674) 'Abd ar-Rahman ibn Mas`ud (Abd ar-Rahman 6) spent the winter in Roman territory: Elias, Chron., p. 145, lines 9-13 = p. 70.

In AH 56 (November 675-November 676) `Abd al-Rahman b. Mas`ud was said to have led the winter campaign against Byzantine territory, though another version named the leader as Junadah 1: Tabari XVIII, p. 183.
