Zacharias 27 was a monk and abbas (ὅ τε ἀββᾶς Ζαχαρίας); he was with Pionios 1 at Tilis in 797 when they met Theodore the Stoudite (Theodoros 15) on his way into exile at Thessalonike; Zacharias 27 wanted to share Theodoros 15's fate and accompany him into exile but was not allowed to do so; he is mentioned in a letter of Theodoros 15 to Platon 1: Theod. Stud., Ep. 3.
