Yezid 6 was an Arab commander. In AH 49 (Feb. 669-Jan. 670) Yazid b. Shajarah al- Rahawi led a sea raid against the Byzantines, and spent the winter in Syria: Tabari XVIII, p. 94. In AH 56 (Nov. 675-Nov. 676) he is said to have raided Byzantine territory by sea: Tabari XVIII, p. 183. In AH 58 (Nov. 677-Oct. 678) he was killed at sea, according to one source, al-Waqidi; according to another, `Amr b. Yazid al-Juhani, he led the winter campaign into Byzantine territory in this year: Tabari XVIII, p. 192.
