Shortly after Yezid II (Yezid 2) became caliph in 720, Yezid 3 (Yezid ibn al-Muhallab, Theophanes calls him "Izid Moualabi") rebelled against him in Persia (i.e. Iraq); the general Maslama 1 was sent against him, Yezid 3 was killed and Persia was subdued: Theoph.
