According to the List of Old Bulgar Rulers, p. 273, Vinekh 1's name was Vinekh, his family name was Ukil, and he was ruler of the Bulgars for seven years ("Vinekh seven years, his race Ukil, and his years shegor alem"); Runciman, First Bulgarian Empire, Appendix, p. 277} (for the chronology). Vinekh 1 was ruler of the Bulgars from 756 to 762; see Grumel, Chronologie, p. 388. Vinekh 1 succeeded Kormesios 1 and was succeeded by Telets 1. See also Runciman, op. cit., p. 37.
