Thomas 52 was a droungarios, possibly of Athens; owner of a seal dateable between the mid eighth century and the mid ninth: Zacos and Veglery 2553. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει, with το - σο - δου - [λ.] (sic) in the corners. Rev.: +Θο - μα δρο - υγγαρι' - [Α]θη. The name and title perhaps read: Θωμᾷ δρουγγαρίῳ Ἀθηνῶν.
