Thomas 51 was a hypatos and chartoularios of the genikon logothesion; owner of a seal dateable to the late eighth century or the early ninth: Zacos and Veglery 3210. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει, with τω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: Θωμα - υπ' (καὶ) χαρ' - του γεν' - λογοθ'. The name and titles read: Θωμᾷ ὑπάτῳ καὶ χαρτουλαρίῳ τοῦ γενικοῦ λογοθεσίου.
