Theosostos 1 was a Stoudite monk and an abbas (ὁ ἀββᾶς Θεόσωστος: p. 745, line 48), whose death is mentioned by Theodoros 15 (Theodore the Stoudite) in a letter written between 824 and 826; Theodoros 15 refers also to the deaths of Prokopios 19 and Silas 1; Theod. Stud., Ep. 503, pp. 744-745, cf. Theod. Stud., Catech. Parva 109 (p. 374 Auvray) (also mention of his death).
