Theophylaktos 108 was a protospatharios and the addressee of a letter from the patriarch Photius (Photios 1); he had fallen ill and been cured by Photius, and in gratitude he gave help to the poor and cancelled the debts of all his debtors, of which Photius expressed his warm approval; the letter was written some time between c. 859 and c. 886: Photius, Ep. 224 (II 136 Laourdas-Westerink) (addressed Θεοφυλάκτῳ πρωτοσπαθαρίῳ).
