Theophylaktos 48 was a spatharios and strategos of Thrace; owner of a seal whose date is perhaps eighth or ninth century: Schlumberger, Sig., p. 122, no. 1. No text or description is given, but the seal had been purchased by the British Museum at the "Subhy Pacha" sale, and may therefore be identical with Gray Birch, BMSeals 17531.
