Theophilos 43 was a basilikos spatharios and strategos of Paphlagonia; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth century: Zacos and Veglery 2522. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει, with τω - σω - δου - λ[ω] in the corners. Rev.: Θεοφι - [λ]ω β' σπα' (καὶ) - [σ]τρατ' Πα - φλαγ'. The name and titles read: Θεοφίλῳ βασιλικῷ σπαθαρίῳ καὶ στρατηγῷ Παφλαγονίας.
