Theophilos 39 was a basilikos spatharios and strategos of Dyrrhachion; owner of a seal dateable to the first half of the ninth century: Zacos and Veglery 2521. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει, with τω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: .[ε?]ο.. - λω β' σπαθ - (καὶ) στρατιγ' τ' - Δοραχ'. The name and titles read: Θεοφίλῳ βασιλικῷ σπαθαρίῳ καὶ στρατηγῷ τοῦ Δυρραχίου. The reading of the name is uncertain.
