Theophanes 45 was a vestitor(?) and chartoularios of the basilika ktemata; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth century: Zacos and Veglery 2515. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει, with τω - [σω] - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: Θεοφα - νει β.στ' (καὶ) - [χ?]α.... β' κ - τηματ'. The name and titles perhaps read: Θεοφάνῃ βεστίτορι καὶ χαρτουλαρίῳ τῶν βασιλικῶν κτημάτων. The letters β.στ could also be interpreted as β[ε]στ(ιαρίῳ) or as β(ασιλικῷ) []στ(ιαρίῳ). Cf. Zacos and Veglery, Seals, p. 1363 note.
