Theophanes 13 was a basilikos kommerkiarios and abydikos of Thessalonike; owner of seals dateable to the ninth century: DOSeals I 18.9a, 9b (= Zacos and Veglery 2503b). The two specimens are from the same boulloterion. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει, with τω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: + Θεο - φανη β' κο - μερκ' (καὶ) αβυ - δικ' Θεσα - λονικ. The name and titles read: Θεοφάνῃ βασιλικῷ κομμερκιαρίῳ καὶ ἀβυδικῷ Θεσσαλονίκης. A third specimen, from a different boulloterion, is Zacos and Veglery 2503a (obv., as above; rev.: + Θεο+ - φανη β' κο - μερκ' (καὶ) αβυ - δικ' Θεσς - αλο...). Another similar seal, probably owned by the same person, is published by Mordtmann, ÒByz. MolybdoboullonÓ IV p. 146, no. 10.
