Theoktistos 17 was a basilikos kandidatos and protonotarios of the Thrakesioi; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth or tenth century (DOSeals), possibly the second half of the ninth century (Zacos and Veglery): DOSeals III 2.37 = Zacos and Veglery 2496. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει, with τω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: +Θε. - κτιστω β' - κανδ' και α' ν. - τ' των Θρ. - [κ]ησι'. The name and titles read: Θεοκτίστῳ βασιλικῷ κανδιδάτῳ καὶ πρωτονοταρίῳ τῶν Θρᾳκησίων.
