Theognios 3 was a basilikos protospatharios and strategos of Thessalonike; owner of seals dateable to the ninth century: DOSeals I 18.76a (= Zacos and Veglery 2490) and b. The two specimens are from the same boulloterion. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει, with τω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: Θεογνι - [ω] β' α' σπαθ' - [(καὶ)] στρατιγ' - [Θ]εσσα'. The name and titles read: Θεογνίῳ βασιλικῷ πρωτοσπαθαρίῳ καὶ στρατηγῷ Θεσσαλονίκης.
