Theodotos 44, also called Sellokakas, was a kandidatos: Petrus, Vita Ioannicii 34 (Θεόδοτος ὁ κανδιδάτος, ὃν ἐπιλεγόμενος Σελλοκάκας). He had a daughter (Anonyma 55) who was paralysed and whom he took to St Ioannikios (Ioannikios 2) in whom he had great faith and who cured her: Petrus, Vita Ioannicii 34, cf. Sabas, Vita Ioannicii 27 (unnamed συγκλητικὸς, whose paralysed daughter was cured by Ioannikios 2). The name "Sellokakas" is perhaps a nickname rather than a family-name, but this is not certain. The date was perhaps in the reign of the emperor Michael II (Michael 10), from the place of the story in the narrative. Ioannikios 2 was apparently living near the monastery of Agauroi (near Prousa) at the time.
