Textual SourcesVita Stephani Iunioris, by Stephanus Diaconus (BHG 1666), ed. M.-F. Auzépy, La Vie d'Etienne le Jeune par Étienne le diacre. Introduction, édition et traduction (Aldershot, 1997); PG 100. 1069-1186 (hagiography)

Theodote 2 was the daughter of Anna 5 (and Gregorios 73) and sister of Stephen the Younger (Stephanos 2); she also had a sister (Anonyma 36): Vita Steph. Iun. 91, 23-24 (1073D-1076A), 153, 14 (1156A) (where her name is given). After her father's death she and her mother were taken to Mt Auxentius by Stephen and installed in the convent of Trikhinareai: Vita Steph. Iun. 107, 8-10 (1093C-D). When Stephen was exiled to Prokonnesos (probably in 762) she and her mother left Trikhinareai and joined him there: Vita Steph. Iun. 148, 15-17 (1148C). She died there, seven days after her mother, during the second year of Stephen's exile (presumably in 763): Vita Steph. Iun. 153, 10-16 (1153D-1156A).
