Theodosios 44 was patriarch of Jerusalem; in 869 he sent the priest and synkellos Elias 13 as his representative to the Council called at Constantinople in that year by Ignatios 1 and Basil I (Basilios 7); the emperor had previously sent letters and gifts to the ruler of Syria (?the caliph) to secure permission for representatives from the Eastern patriarchates to attend: Nicetas, Vita Ignatii 544D (Θεοδοσίου πατριάρχου τῶν Ἱεροσολύμων).
